Students, parents and educators continue to work through unprecedented challenges in today’s education climate. These challenges must be addressed with new innovative policies to help Pennsylvania students flourish.
House Bill 1 and Senate Bill 1, promoting Excellence in Education for All, ensure that every student is given opportunities towards the best education and empowers parents in the process.
“Pennsylvania’s parents should have decision-making power in the educational opportunities for their children, including access to the state funding that currently goes directly to public schools,” said Rep. Andrew Lewis (R-Dauphin), chief sponsor of House Bill 1.
“The goal of this comprehensive legislation is to allow parents in communities all across the Commonwealth to be directly involved in helping determine the best approach for the success of their child’s education.” - Lead sponsors of Senate Bill 1, State Senator Scott Martin (R-Lancaster), Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman (R-State College) and State Senator John DiSanto (R-Harrisburg).
